Description

Exeter English hallmarked solid silver dessert fork hallmarked Exeter 1818, and made by George Ferris in the fiddle pattern.
The Exeter assay office closed in 1883, therefore such provincial silver pieces with their hallmarks are more scarce and very collectable.
Size-6.5 inches long by 7/8 inches wide.
Weight- heavy at 43 grams.
Nicely scrolled contemporary initial W to the front of the stem.
A good and collectable piece of Exeter provincial silver, with a very good weight, which will make a great addition to a canteen of Georgian silver, or a lovely gift.
With very clear hallmarks.
With a tiny nick to the front of one tine, in very good condition overall.
