Description
Birmingham 1947 rare English hallmarked solid silver tea strainer with the most unusual design of a pierced strainer mounted on a swivelling holder, which then drains into teapot shaped stand having a spout. The drained contents are then poured out through the spout.
The handle is carved ebony.
Made by silversmith Hugo Klugmann of Regent Street in London and Germany.
This striking tea strainer made in solid silver, and is so stylish and cleverly made. It is a useful strainer, and perfect for either the tea lover, or the collector of novelty silver.
Size-7 inches long by 2.5 inches diameter by 2.25 inches high.
Weight-70 grams.
I have never seen another like it.
With some bumps to both sections, this rare and stylish piece is in good condition overall.
