Description

London 1966 English hallmarked cast solid silver letter opener or paper knife in the form of a meat skewer, having a double struck shell and loop design terminal to both sides.
Made in the Georgian style, by Payne and Sons, in business as a family since 1790. These silversmiths and retailers specialised in silver by well known contemporary designers.
This lovely piece will grace any desk or table beautifully, and can be left out to weigh down papers, etc., as well.
Size-large and impressive at 10 inches long, by .75 inches wide.
Weight-quite heavy at 3 troy ounces.
The design is striking, and would make an elegant and functional gift or purchase for yourself.
It is in very good condition with very clear hallmarks.
