Description
20th century heavy solid sterling silver very stylish double drinks or spirit measure made by Lunt Silversmiths of Massachusetts, USA.A lovely tall flared shape with rolled edges, this double measure holds two different amounts of liquor, perfect for measuring drinks, and has a band of chased and applied foliate trim dividing the two. The interiors are lightly gilded.
Made from 1935.
Lunt silversmiths is known for their fine craftsmanship and good taste in design. Still unusually family owned since the 19th century, it is a very well known and highly regarded company.
Lunt was chosen by the US government to furnish all the silver for their embassies and consulates around the world.
Marked Lunt Sterling.
Weight-65 grams.
Size-3 5/8 inches high by 1 5/8 inches diameter and 1 7/8 inches diameter.
A lovely and unusual piece of sterling silver, very functional for the bar, and a perfect talking point when entertaining.
Usually such measures are found in stainless or silver plate only.
