Description

19th century Victorian very unusual porcelain travelling holy water font in the original leather case. It is octagonal in form, and stands on a footed base. The sides are decorated with symbolic figures.
In the 19th century, among other things deemed necessary for travel, this was taken and used for devotional purposes.
There is a slight hairline inside the interior edge which was likely during the firing process. The leather case is a bit scuffed.
Size-overall 4 5/8 diameter by 3.25 inches high. 4 3/3 inches by 3 inches high outside of case.
Weight-400 grams alone and with case it is 550 grams before packing.
A very interesting piece in very good condition. Quite a talking point.
