Description

19th century lovely Victorian Staunton style turned wood complete chess set in the original mahogany slide top box.
The turned wood pieces are polished boxwood and ebony having felt lined undersides, and a very good weight.
The original slide top mahogany box with moulded edge has a velvet lining to bottom.
Size of king is 3 inches high with base diameter of 1.25 inches.
The box measures 7 inches long by 5 inches wide by 3.5 inches high, and the pieces all fit inside.
Weight-650 grams without packing.
A beautiful antique chess set, in the original lovely box, and in very good condition, with lovely colour and patina.
Great to own or to give as a gift. It is wonderful to play with an antique set.
This would complement any games table or chess board beautifully.
