Description
19th century striking solid mahogany work box, crossbanded and fan shape corner inlaid on all sides with satinwood, and having satinwood, boxwood and mahogany inlay to centre, making a wonderful central starburst pattern.The hinged rising lid reveals a vacant interior which allows storage of papers, jewellery, sewing accoutrement, or whatever one wishes.
Very nice pale colour, grain and patina.
Size-14 3/8 inches long by 8.25 inches wide by 4.75 inches high.
A really lovely, unusual and elegant box that will make a great and functional present for a man or a woman, which will also make a beautiful display on desk, dressing table or table.
