Description

19th century very charming original etching of St. Ives, Cornwall, titled and signed in pencil by the artist, Florence M Leicester. It is an iconic village waterfront scene of the most famous town in Cornwall, complete with ancient granite guay, cobbled streets, fisherman's cottages, boats, and a person watching the water, perhaps waiting for a fisherman to return from the sea.
Size-12.5 inches by 16.5 inches overall. Opening size 6.25 inches by 8.5 inches.
Weight for shipping-1.10 kilos.
Very well executed and mounted in the original black wood glazed frame, with replaced mount. With framing label by F J Salisbury of Tooting Road London to the reverse.
In very good condition.
One of 3 original etchings available by this artist.
It would make a lovely memento of England and look lovely hung in a group or individually.
