Description
An English Birmingham 1960 hallmarked solid silver sewing accessories kit contained in a fitted red leather gilt lined case lined on the interior with dark green velvet and white satin, by luxury retailers and silvermakers Asprey and Co. of New Bond Street in London. They hold the Royal Warrant to supply the Royal family, an honour given to the finest makers. The silver was made by James Swann and Son for Asprey.The kit comprises a solid silver needle case, thimble, and bodkin, as well as the original pair of French steel scissors. It is presented in the lovely fitted case with the Asprey label, and also includes the original Asprey outer gift box as well.
Size-case measures 5 3/8 inches long by 3.25 inches wide by 7/8 inches high. Including the gift box, the measurement is approximately 7 inches by 4 inches.
Weight-weight for shipping is 160 grams.
As it has always been kept in the gift box, it is in very good little used condition.
A lovely and unusual gift for the sewing enthusiast or the collector of novelty silver or sewing collectables.
