Description
Very good quality English Stuart crystal decanter set comprising a large cut glass decanter and 6 stemmed glasses plus a mahogany and brass stand as well as the original deep blue and silver Mappin and Webb gift box. They were the retailers of this set.Both the decanter and glasses are beautifully cut to catch the light. The decanter has thumb, diamond and slice cuts with a banded flared neck and cut mushroom stopper. The glasses are similarly cut. All pieces have star cut bases.
The circular mahogany stand is great for display on table or bar, and for storing the set. All the glass is acid etched Stuart on the bases. The stand has a protective baize base under.
Appearing to never have been used, the whole set is in wonderful condition.
Stuart crystal has been in production for more than 200 years. This fine English crystal is known as producers of cut glass in the traditional way.
Size-decanter is 9 inches high by 4 5/8 inches wide. Glasses are 5 inches high by 2.5 inches wide. Stand is 10.25 inches diameter and 7.25 inches high. When the glass is inside the stand it is 10 inches high by 10.75 inches wide.
Weight-approximately 4.7 kilos total.
