Circa 1905 solid silver large rimmed bowl made by the famous S. Kirk & Son Company of the USA.
Circa 1905 impressive large American sterling silver bowl made by the famous S. Kirk & Son Company of Baltimore, Maryland in the USA. The company was founded by Samuel Kirk in the early part of the 19th century. He was descended from English silversmiths, and his own descendants continued the tradition.
Kirk and Son was known for its fine craftsmanship, and its silver graced the table of White House administrations. The company was combined with the Stieff company, another Baltimore family firm, in 1979, and continues to this day.
This bowl has a tapering edge rim with a thick moulded edge. The sides continue to taper to the flat bottom, having an attractive monogram to centre.
This bowl or dish can be used to serve fruit, bread, or whatever you wish.
It is marked S. Kirk and Son Co. 925/1000. This is exactly the same fineness as English sterling silver.
Size-9 5/8 inches diameter by 2.5 inches high
Weight-450 grams.
This impressive bowl, with good gauge, weight, and clean and classic style, is in very good condition having been professionally polished.

Extraordinary and very heavy solid silver hallmarked embossed Kiddush cup or beaker.
Suberb London 1994 English hallmarked solid silver extra heavy Kiddush cup superbly embossed with illustrations of Moses leading the Israelites during the Exodus from ancient Egypt as described in the Hebrew bible. The Exodus is the theme of the Jewish holiday of Passover. The relief illustrations circle around the entire perimeter, beneath a title in Hebrew text. The workmanship of the people, buildings, and landscape beyond are beautifully executed. This is the centrepiece of a Kiddush cup collection.

This superior quality cup is beautifully crafted with a tapering shape and rounded bottom, and has a gilded interior. It is wonderfully tactile, made with a very thick gauge of silver, is very weighty, and a pleasure to see and hold.
Kiddush is a blessing recited over wine or grape juice to sanctify the Shabbat or Jewish holidays.

Beautifully designed solid silver English hallmarked set of 4 bridge or gaming counter dishes by famous maker A. E. Jones.
Solid silver English hallmarked very unusual and excellent quality set of 4 bridge gaming counter or trumps dishes in the shape of the four traditional playing card suits (diamonds, hearts, spades and clubs), hallmarked in Birmingham in 1986, and made by renowned makers A. E. Jones, in a heavy gauge of silver.
The dishes are beautifully and realistically shaped, and have slightly convex centres. They are very suitable for snacks, nuts, and the like.
A. E. Jones, is a very well known and collectable maker of the Arts and Crafts period.
He was born in 1878 and died in 1954. He came from a family of silversmiths. He trained at the Birmingham Central School of Arts, and became known as a developer and innovator . He was a Guildsman at the Birmingham Guild of Handicraft where he was influenced and inspired by the Arts and Crafts Movement. He went out on his own in 1902, and quickly became successful and attracted other talented artists and craftsmen to his workshop, all inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement. His silver was hand made, often also incorporating Ruskin pottery in the designs. In 1958 after his father's death, his son Kenneth Crisp Jones,(also trained at the Central School of Art Birmingham) took over the family business, continuing the firms great innovation in design and expression developed in the Arts and Crafts movement.
Size-Diamonds 4.75 inches by 3.25 inches; hearts 4 inches by 3 5/8 inches; spades 4 inches by 3.75 inches; clubs 4.25 inches by 3.75 inches.
Weight-250 grams.
This is a set of beautifully crafted and unusual dishes, both stylish, functional, and of very generous size and weight. They would make a great gift for the bridge, trumps, card enthusiast, or any game using counters. They are also lovely decorative pieces for the collector of novelty silver.

Wonderful Birmingham 1966 solid silver English hallmarked pair of dwarf candelabra by famous makers ELKINGTON AND COMPANY.
Birmingham 1966 English hallmarked solid silver pair of candelabra or candlesticks by world famous makers Elkington and Company, with twin branches joined by a curved and fluted member, bell pot candle holders, and standing on a circular footed base.
Weight-395 grams total.
Size- 6 inches wide by 4.5 inches high by 3.25 inches base diameter.
This is a very classic, simple and elegant pair, with loaded baize covered bases.
With only one small line mark to one base, they are beautifully made and in very good condition.
These will look lovely on any table, and with any silver pattern, and would make an excellent gift, or a treat to keep for yourself. The lower size is perfect to keep unobstructed views across the table, and can accommodate any height candles.

London 1875 English hallmarked solid silver large pair-a two handled sugar bowl, and cream jug by Robert Hennel, famous maker.
This lovely pair to use when serving tea or coffee, have lovely crisp all over bright cut engraving, including on the handles, very interesting shapes, and are heavy with a thick gauge of silver.
There are cartouches on each side, one side being vacant, and one bearing Laura 1876.
Size-Sugar bowl is 7.5 inches wide by 3 inches high.
Size-Cream jug is 6 inches wide by 3 inches high.

London 1772 solid silver George III cream jug
London 1772 solid George III English hallmarked silver helmet shaped cream jug to use when serving tea or coffee, standing on spreading pedestal foot. Although the rest of hallmark is quite clear, the makers mark is partially rubbed, so maker is unknown.
This was made 4 years before the US Declaration of Independence!
With hand beaten punch bead decorated edges, and foliate decorated repousse body complemented by a graceful shaped handle with leaf embellished thumb piece, and standing on a pedestal foot with matching punch bead edge.
Sign of very old repair below rim on flat area, which was very well done.
Size-4 inches wide with handle by 4 3/8 inches high. 2.5 inch diameter of body.
Weight-75 grams.
Very good gauge of silver, weight and condition, for the great age of 244 years old!

This is beautifully and realistically modelled, with excellent detail, and is hallmarked Birmingham 1966, and cast in a heavy solid sterling silver.

Stunning and beautifully made heavy cast solid silver table or dinner bell with well modelled naturalistic solid owl handle by very famous makers Asprey and Company of London, makers of the most exclusive luxury British goods since 1781. Their goods are made with exacting craftsmanship.
Owls are always popular design features, particularly crafted in silver. Owls symbolise wisdom, as well as wealth and status.
The bell is hallmarked for London 1973, and the solid silver clapper is also properly hallmarked.

Very nice tall pair of English hallmarked solid silver candle sticks, well crafted in a waisted column style with reeded design to top and base. The weighted base is covered with baize to protect the table top.

Circa 1940 sterling solid silver comport by Richard Dimes Co. of Boston, USA.
C1940, American sterling solid silver lovely fluted comport on pedestal base, by Richard Dimes Co. of South Boston, Massachusetts. This company was founded in 1908. He originally started the holloware room of the Towle Company, and eventually started his own business.
Weighing 435 grams, this is a substantial and unusual piece, suitable for dessert, cake, fruit, and cheese.
Considering the value of just the scrap weight of this comport, this is a wonderful value, as silver prices continue to soar.
The beautifully fluted top is 9.5 inches in diameter, and rests on a stepped and flared base.
It stands 3.5 inches high.
This sterling fineness is .925 fine, identical to the silver content of English sterling silver.
Engraved with the date 1940 underneath on the inside of the pedestal, and also with the model number 186.
In very good condition, with just the usual centre surface scratching from serving pieces, this would grace any dinner table or sideboard, and is an excellent investment, given the soaring price of solid silver and the heavy weight of this piece.
