Wonderful 1884 marked Victorian silver plate ice bucket or wine cooler by famous maker ELKINGTON.
Wonderful 19th century Victorian etched glass and silver plate ice bucket or wine cooler, made by famed makers Elkington and Co. and date marked for 1884.
Designed in the style of a banded bucket, this lovely piece has a lined etched glass body with star cut base and friction fit silver plate straps, silver plate top and bottom edges and swing handle. In addition, inside there is a silver plate beautifully pierced removable and reversible drain plate with finial. It allows drainage of melting ice, or if turned over flat with finial pointing down, it will hold a bottle out of the sitting water.
Both the bucket and the plate are marked clearly marked and hallmarked for Elkington and date marked with the letter "Y" for 1884.
Weight-695 grams.
Size-4 7/8 inches high without handle and 8 inches high with handle extended by 5 1/8 inches top diameter or 3 3/8 inches bottom diameter.
Interior depth is 3 3/8 inches to the plate or 4 5/8 inches to the bottom.
A lovely Victorian example, with all original pieces intact. Wonderful to use at the table or bar for ice cubes or to chill a bottle of wine.
A classic and elegant piece, and a talking point.
It is unusual to find such an item with all pieces complete and in very good condition.
A great gift to give or a treat for yourself.

London 1971 cut glass and solid silver spirit decanter.
London 1971 English hallmarked large and impressive heavy cut glass spirit decanter with hallmarked solid silver collar. Silversmith is Preece & Williscombe.
Size 9.5 inches high by 4 inches square overall, or 7.25 inches high without stopper.
Weight-2 kilos.
The decanter corners are cut and chamfered, and the stopper is original to the decanter. The shoulders are also faceted.
There are some slight marks to the inside lip of the silver collar from where the stopper has touched during replacement, as is common, and a couple of tiny nicks to the bottom of the stopper.
A lovely gift, in very good overall condition, with an impressive size and weight, having wonderful light catching facets.
A great gift for the drinks enthusiast perhaps accompanied by their favourite bottle, sure to be appreciated in the evening in the study, dining or drawing room.

Birmingham 1889 hallmarked solid silver and cut glass set of 6 spirit tots or shot glasses.
Birmingham 1889 English hallmarked solid silver and cut glass lovely set of 6 spirit or liqueur, tot or shot glasses with hallmarked silver mounts and cut glass bodies. The glass is clear with star cut bases and the silver mounts are smooth and polished.
These make great glasses for shots of vodka or whisky, or for liqueurs.
Maker John Grinsell and Sons.
Size-approximately 2 1/8 inches high by 1 3/8 inches diameter.
Weight-325 grams total.
2 or 3 glasses have a very tiny flea bite underneath on base, which is not visible upright, and could be buffed out if desired. Just mentioned for accuracy. This very attractive Victorian set is in very good condition overall, and would make a lovely present or a great addition to the bar.

Lovely French Art Deco period amethyst decanter.
Circa 1930 wonderful French barrel shaped cut glass amethyst coloured decanter with long panel cuts to glass and matching cut original stopper.
The glass bears the French spelling of Czechoslovakia underneath the base.

20thC solid sterling silver very stylish double drinks or spirit measure made by Lunt Silversmiths.
20th century heavy solid sterling silver very stylish double drinks or spirit measure made by Lunt Silversmiths of Massachusetts, USA.
A lovely tall flared shape with rolled edges, this double measure holds two different amounts of liquor, perfect for measuring drinks, and has a band of chased and applied foliate trim dividing the two. The interiors are lightly gilded.
Made from 1935.
Lunt silversmiths is known for their fine craftsmanship and good taste in design. Still unusually family owned since the 19th century, it is a very well known and highly regarded company.
Lunt was chosen by the US government to furnish all the silver for their embassies and consulates around the world.
Marked Lunt Sterling.
Weight-65 grams.
Size-3 5/8 inches high by 1 5/8 inches diameter and 1 7/8 inches diameter.
A lovely and unusual piece of sterling silver, very functional for the bar, and a perfect talking point when entertaining.
Usually such measures are found in stainless or silver plate only.

Turn of 19th/20th centuries silver plate citrus squeezer and strainer by William Hutton and Sons.
Turn of 19th/20th centuries very unusual and heavy antique silver plate citrus squeezer and strainer by very good makers William Hutton and Sons.
The handles open to allow the fruit to be placed face down over the strainer. Closing the handles pushes a curved fork around each side which mesh together and squeeze out the juice, while the strainer keeps any debris from entering the container.
Very clever!
Size-8.25 inches long by 3 inches wide.
This will be most impressive for the bar or drinks cabinet, as it is a real talking point, but also very functional as well. Also very useful in the kitchen for juicing.

Turn of 19th/20thC large pair of silver plated wine coasters.
Turn of 19th/20th centuries, large pair of sheffield silver plate wine coasters with cast and applied edges of grapes and vines, on bulbous tapering sides, over turned wood bases.
Their large size will hold decanters and magnum sized bottles.
Size-8 inches diameter outside, and 5 inches diameter inside, by 3 inches high.
In excellent condition, this pair is both useful and very beautifully crafted.

18th century London 1791 solid silver hallmarked sherry decanter label.
Lovely Georgian London 1791 English hallmarked solid silver bottle ticket or decanter label beautifully pierced with the word sherry. Includes full hallmarks with the makers mark partially rubbed.
Such labels were very popular to use in this period and are now still usable and highly collectable, particularly 18th century examples.
The oval label is a nice weight, and has a gadroon edge and heavy typical Georgian chain.
Size-1 5/8 inches long without including chain.
This is a very nice seldom found 18th century period silver label in very good condition. It would make a great label for the collector, or to give as a gift.
