Birmingham 1908 solid silver profusely engraved cigar case made by G. Loveridge.
Birmingham 1908 English hallmarked solid silver lovely quality cigar box or case, heavily engraved all over with foliate and bright cut engraving to both sides.
Maker G. Loveridge and Co.
This case is quite large and very good quality with a heavy weight and gauge of silver.
The reverse side of the case has a graceful curve that is meant to fit comfortably against the body when carrying. The case opens with a full length hinge.
Within a large lozenge shaped border is a very attractive engraved monogram, and the date 1909.
Weight-150 grams.
Size-4.75 inches long by 3 3/8 inches wide by 7/8 inches deep.
A very nice example of a cigar case, that is still useful for its original purpose, or for business cards, photos or carrying whatever you like.
Given as a gift exactly 100 years ago, this would make an excellent gift to celebrate an important occasion.
In very good condition.

London 1894 very good quality solid silver cigar case by Minshull and Latimer.
London 1894 English hallmarked solid silver cigar case by makers Minshull and Latimer. It is profusely engraved with a leaf and scroll bright cut design on both sides. It catches the light beautifully, and also has a large blank cartouche to the top, suitable for engraving if you wish.
The back has a graceful curve, designed to be carried comfortably against the body. It has a full length hinge and a push button spring catch and very clear hallmarks.
The gilt interior is original, and includes the original elasticated retention strap.
Size-5.25 inches high by 3 3/8 inches wide by 7/8 inches deep.
Weight-heavy at 165 grams.
This sizeable cigar case is still wonderful to use for its original purpose, or to hold tobacco, or whatever one wishes.
It appears to have received little use during its lifetime, has excellent gauge and weight of silver and is in very good condition.

Birmingham 1938 large and extremely heavy solid silver cigarette or card case with lovely engraved dog to lid.
Unusual Birmingham 1938 English hallmarked solid silver cigarette or card case made by Alfred Nathan Andrews and Harry Stanley Andrews trading as A Wilcox.
This large and very heavy case unusually has a very realistically modelled dog engraving to the lid cover, probably a setter, retriever, or spaniel standing in a farm field. The case also has chamfered corners, sprung catch, and the original gilt interior and retaining strap.
Size-4.5 inches long by 3.25 inches wide.
Weight-very heavy at 185 grams.
Originally meant to use for cigarettes, and still able to be used for that purpose, this also makes a great card case.
Wonderful for the dog or hunting aficionado, the collector of novelty silver, or those looking for an unusual gift.
With just some light marks of use, in very good condition overall.

London 1913 large English hallmarked solid silver cedar lined cigar or cigarette box by very famous maker Aspreys and Co. of London.
Size-8 inches long by 3.5 inches wide by 2 3/8 inches high.
The box is beautifully engraved all over, and has a blank plaque to lid, suitable for personalisation if desired.
The box was formerly made to be a cigarette or cigar box, but is now also used for playing cards, desk tidy, jewellery or whatever one likes.
The interior divider is moveable for division of the areas as required.

London 1914 George V English hallmarked solid silver pipe stand or tray with integral match stand holder by superior makers, Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company.
This is a very high quality piece. It is beautifully made and an unusual gift for either the pipe smoker or collector, or the collector of novelty silver. It would look lovely as a table or desk accessory.
It comprises a tray standing on ball feet, having a raised edge. It has an integral cup for matches, and two shaped scroll footed wire racks meant to hold up to two pipes. (pipe shown is for illustrative purposes only).

Birmingham 1934 solid silver very nice and unusually sized Art Deco solid silver table cigarette or cigar box, made by Adie Brothers.
Birmingham 1934 Art Deco English hallmarked solid silver unusual table sized cigarette or cigar box, made by very good makers, Adie Brothers.
Square in shape, and with rounded corners, the plain sides are highlighted by an engine turned engraved top, having a geometric Art Deco vacant cartouche to centre.
The rising lid reveals a fully lined cedar wood interior. The lid is attached to the case with a full length flush mounted hinge, while the base exterior is leather lined to protect the table surface.
Still very functional for its original purpose for holding cigarettes and small cigars, this box is also perfect as a desk tidy, a jewellery box for cuff links, watches etc., or just a lovely table ornament.
Size-3 3/8 inches square.
In very good condition, and with very good quality and gauge of silver. This is ready to use for yourself, or to give as a wonderful gift.

This case has all over bright cut scroll engraving and the original gilding to the interior, as well as the retention straps. It has a full side hinge and a sprung push thumb catch.
This case can also hold business cards or small cigars.
With a very charming inscription to the interior in French, "avec tout mon coeur," translating to with all my heart, as well as "This above all."
Weight-very heavy at 120 grams.

Birmingham 1946 heavy and excellent quality large curved solid silver cigarette case with striped engraving, push button tight closure, and original faded gilt interior and original elasticated retention straps.
Made by Joseph Gloster Ltd.
This case is curved to comfortably rest against the body, and has alternating line engraving on both front and back, with personalization to the front circular cartouche.
Size-4 inches by 3 inches by .75 inches high.
Weight-a very heavy 140 grams.
