birmingham 1914 solid silver cigarette holder and case

Birmingham 1914 solid silver cigarette holder and case.

Item Ref

Birmingham 1914 English hallmarked solid silver complete cigarette holder and case set made by Francis Webb of the Pencil Case Works in Birmingham.
This iconic item of the period has an over engraved case and cap with a scroll and leafy design, with a ring on the end of the case to attach it to a key ring or chatelaine. There is a vacant cartouche suitable for engraving on the case if personalisation is desired.
When the case is opened, a matching engraved solid silver cigarette holder is revealed, having a Bakelite mouthpiece. Over the years, many of these pieces are lost, and only an empty case, or the holder alone is found. It is lovely to have a complete example with all pieces.
A lovely item for the collector of smoking requisites or novelty silver.
Size-3 inches long including ring by .5 inches diameter at widest.
Weight-10 grams.
With very clear and matching hallmarks, all pieces are in very good condition.
