Description

Birmingham 1909 unusual Edwardian period English hallmarked solid silver and cut glass inkwell by Henry Matthews, having a solid silver top extending down to the wonderful chased and applied silver edge shoulder decoration, which appears to "drip" down over the cut glass body. Very unusual.
Lovely facet cuts to glass over entire base.
Size-3 1/8 inches diameter by 2.25 inches high.
With a minor mark to silver lid, in very good condition overall.
An unusual and lovely piece, which would look lovely on any desk or table, and doubles as a great paperweight.
