Description

Lovely pewter highly polished twin handled bowl or quaich with attractive celtic design band to bowl and to both handles, and standing on pedestal foot.
A quaich is originally a drinking vessel unique to Scotland. It was used to serve both a welcome and farewell drink to a guest, usually containing a dram of whisky. It was also used to give the piper a drink at a wedding.
Now it is used to serve any type of food.
It makes a symbolic wedding gift or a great gift for a child.
Also called a porringer, it is a very pretty and useful bowl.
Size-4 inches diameter, bowl only: 6.25 inches wide with handles; 2 inches high.
Weight-190 grams.
In excellent condition.
