Description
Very unusual silver plate small mirrored plateau stand made by Elkington Company, famous makers of silver plate, in 1927. Elkington is one of the few plate manufacturers that uses an annual dating system, just like the hallmark system.
The stand is bevelled on the sides, tapering from top to bottom, and has a leaf design on bands to top and bottom. The original mirror has some silvered spots.
The base is mahogany.
Size-3.5 inches diameter by 1.25 inches high. The interior mirror area measures 2 3/8 inches diameter.
Weight-145 grams.
There are some very minor signs of plate wear.
This is a really lovely and unusual piece which could be used to display and complement a glass or silver collectable, or to display a piece of jewellery perhaps.
In very good overall condition, and made by most famous maker.
