Description

A superb very fine and unusual rosewood Edwardian period, circa 1900, 2 tier oval etagere table, crossbanded with satinwood and inlaid with an intricate design in boxwood, bone and ebony.
It stands on tapering legs united by a curving "x" stretcher, with wonderful foliate and scroll pattern inlaid decoration to top centre, as well as harebell inlay to the tier supports, and fan and line inlaid decoration to the legs.
In lovely condition, this stunning piece is very rare to find made in expensive rosewood and satinwood, and having such fine inlay. They are much more often found in mahogany.
Overall dimensions are 35 inches wide by 22 inches deep by 31.5 inches high.
There is a 10 inch difference in height between the two tiers.
Top tier dimensions are 27 inches long by 14 inches wide.
Both decorative and useful, this is a superior and very elegant and classic piece in very good condition. It would be very difficult to find a better example.
Wonderful pale colour and patina.
Great to use as a centre or coffee table, a lamp table, or to serve tea or wine, or whatever one wishes.
The ultimate in recycling, buying and using antique furniture is a beautiful and functional way to start an heirloom collection for your family.
